Chapter 2209 Extra 2
Chapter 2209 Extra 2
Dongchan and Arno got together, but they didn't have a wedding or register their marriage.
Having been injured on the island in his childhood, the couple had no children. Arno, out of love for his wife, treated Xinghua as his own child and raised her with great care.
After obtaining her mother's consent, Xinghua recognized Dongchan and Arno as her godmother and godfather.
After mastering his skills, he completely replaced Dongchan and became Zhang Ran's personal bodyguard.
There are too many children going to Zhongxia Security to learn martial arts every day, and Qiuyu is too busy to have paid attention to Xinghua. However, she knows Dongchan's temperament. For her to take the initiative to recognize a goddaughter and have her protect Zhang Ran, she must have real skills.
Xinghua gave Qiuyu a slight nod with a cold look in her eyes.
Looking at Xinghua's current cold and aloof demeanor, Zhang Ran felt a pang of nostalgia for her childhood. Ever since she recognized Dongchan as her godmother, she had become more and more like Dongchan, deaf and mute like a wooden doll.
The three people walked out of the VIP passage, with bodyguards in black leading the way and protecting them from behind.
Congratulations, Best Actor!
"Ahhhh!"
Wearing sunglasses and protected by security guards, He Yunfan walked out of the passage, which immediately aroused the fans' frenzy. They rushed towards He Yunfan's direction, and the scene was filled with screams, noise, and chaos.
The assistant, pulling He Yunfan's suitcase, followed behind him. Upon seeing the enthusiastic fans, the assistant quickened his pace with a look of disgust, urging He Yunfan to walk faster.
He Yunfan held several bouquets of flowers in his arms. As if sensing something, his gaze swept over the huge crowd of fans and saw dozens of men in black escorting the woman in the lead as she walked out of the airport. The familiar back view made his heart race instantly.
Could it be that she went back to China?
He instinctively ran in that direction, but was blocked by a huge number of fans, and watched helplessly as they disappeared from sight.
Once in the car, the bodyguard drove, and Xinghua sat in the passenger seat.
Qiu Yu and Zhang Ran sat in the back.
"Was that a fan meeting at the airport? Which big star makes fans go crazy?" Zhang Ran hadn't been back to China for ten years and asked Qiu Yu curiously.
"Who else could it be?" Qiu Yu casually revealed the other person's identity, "The cook."
A chef? Zhang Ran then remembered that the only person who had entered the film and television industry with the identity of a chef was He Yunfan. He was just an unknown security guard back then. He seduced her to get back into the film and television industry, and now he has become a top-notch movie star, and is very popular.
The capital has changed a lot. The manor that was originally in the suburbs has now become the inner city, and the one-way street has been widened to a four-way street.
The manor has become a popular tourist destination, but visitors can't get inside and can only take photos from outside the walls.
As Fu Qin and Yang Tao stepped out of the gate, they saw a large convoy of cars driving in.
She excitedly took two steps forward, and when the car stopped, Zhang Ran got out and ran quickly over, calling out, "Xiaoyue!"
"Xiaoqin," Zhang Ran said with a smile, looking Fu Qin up and down, "you've lost weight."
Fu Qin rolled her eyes at her, "You have the nerve to say that? You don't manage your own money and you expect me to manage it. Do you know how many accounts I have to check every day?" Even after hiring more than twenty accountants to help her share the burden, she was still exhausted.
Zhang Ran laughed and put her arm around her shoulder. "Didn't you say we were best friends and that I should earn money to support you? Now I'm giving you all my money to manage, why aren't you happy?"
Fu Qin pretended to be angry and punched her twice, then stopped arguing with her and told her about the principal's illness, "Wangcai is gone, and the principal is sick too. Luckily you came back, otherwise I wouldn't know what to do."
"Thanks for your hard work."
Zhang Ran released Fu Qin and walked up to Yang Tao, tracing her aged face with her eyes. "Mom, I'm back."
Yang Tao wiped away her tears happily, "It's good that you're back. Your aunt and the others have been waiting for you to come back. I'll call them right now." Because she hadn't seen Zhang Ran in person, she wasn't sure. Now that she was really back, she naturally wanted to tell them to come to the manor for a family reunion.
Zhang Ran went abroad in recent years, and Luo Youdi and the others never came to the manor again. She hadn't seen them for a long time either.
"I'm going to see the principal." Zhang Ran strode inside, with Xinghua following closely behind. As soon as they stepped into the living room, they bumped into Wu Ni, who was wearing a housekeeper's uniform.
"Teacher." Wu Ni hurried over nervously and stammered, "I'm the housekeeper here now. Please feel free to ask me anything."
Although Yang Tao stayed in China, she called Zhang Ran several times a day. Yang Tao had already told Zhang Ran about Wu Ni.
Seeing that she was so nervous that she was stammering, Zhang Ran smiled at her and asked, "Is the principal still living in his old room?"
"I'll take you there." Wu Ni realized her mistake after saying that. Zhang Ran was the true owner of the manor, so why would she need to lead the way?
Zhang Ran seemed oblivious to her embarrassment and gestured for her to lead the way.
The principal has always lived in the sunny room. He has been in poor health for the past few years and has been taking medicine. There is always a faint smell of medicine in the room.
As she reached the door, Wu Ni suddenly remembered that the principal was resting, and quickly explained to Zhang Ran, "She just fell asleep after taking her medicine." She nervously clenched her fists, afraid that Zhang Ran would scold her for not telling her in advance.
"Then let her sleep." Zhang Ran said calmly. "You go about your business, you don't need to follow me."
Wu Ni was so nervous around her that she felt like she had been granted a pardon upon hearing this. She quickly went to her room and called Si Ni, Liu Ni, and Jiu Ni to tell them that Zhang Ran had returned to China.
Footsteps sounded behind Zhang Ran. Yang Tao walked to Zhang Ran's side, looked at the principal's closed door and sighed: "Wangcai is gone. The principal is the most heartbroken. She hasn't eaten or drunk anything for the past two days and has fallen ill. Fortunately, she has a family doctor. Maybe she will get better when she wakes up and sees you."
"Mmm," Zhang Ran responded softly, "I want to go see Wangcai."
Yang Tao took her to see Wangcai.
Following Zhang Ran's instructions, Yang Tao specially ordered a new freezer to be bought specifically to store Wangcai's body.
The freezer was placed in Wangcai's room. Opening the ice coffin revealed Wangcai's body, still wearing the scarf that Yangtao had knitted by hand.
"Wangcai, I'm back," Zhang Ran murmured softly.
Yang Tao didn't disturb her and quietly walked away.
Zhang Ran stayed alone in the room, telling Wangcai about her experiences abroad in recent years, chatting and laughing as if Wangcai were still alive.
Then Wu Ni suddenly knocked on the door and told her that the principal had woken up.
Zhang Ran then closed the freezer and went to the principal's room.
The principal, leaning against the headboard, watched Zhang Ran enter and forced a smile: "Find an auspicious day and a good place for the burial so that Wangcai can be reincarnated as a human sooner." Back in his hometown, superstition dictates that if the body isn't buried, the soul can never be reincarnated.
“We can bury it in the back garden so we can visit it whenever we miss it,” Zhang Ran suggested, sitting on the edge of the bed. “It likes the children at the orphanage, so when they come to stroll in the garden, Wangcai can see them too.”
The principal nodded. "That's what I think too."
Zhang Ran looked down at her phone and checked the calendar. "Tomorrow is a double-day event." She looked up at the principal. "The burial is tomorrow. I'll go dig the grave for myself today. I'll dig it myself. It's big, so it'll take a long time."
Don't overwork yourself.
"Ah."
Zhang Ran stood up, walked out of the room, went to the back garden, chose a good spot, and dug a hole herself with a shovel, refusing any help from anyone.
Yang Tao and the others could only stand aside and watch, serving her tea and water and wiping her sweat.
