Chapter 299 - 298: A space invasion?

The Pokémon world was thrown into chaos after the recent news broke. Every television channel, radio station, and social media platform buzzed with the same story.People gathered in groups to watch the reports. Trainers stopped their journeys to listen. Families sat together in shock. The news spread faster than any legendary sighting in recent memory.

On the biggest news channel, the female reporter spoke with wide eyes and high energy.

"Breaking News! A new legendary Pokémon has been discovered. Yes, you heard it right, folks ..... a new legendary. The literal gods of our world!"

She paused for dramatic effect before continuing.

"And this legendary Pokémon had come from beyond our planet. It is an extraterrestrial Pokémon, folks. It has come from outer space!"

The screen showed footage of the meteor crash site in Hoenn. The reporter's voice rose even higher.

"Its name is called Deoxys. From what we have found, this Pokémon had been very aggressive after landing on our planet and was in Hoenn. Hoenn authorities had contacted Gym Leader Gladion of Kanto for help after judging the level of it's capabilities."

She leaned forward, clearly excited.

"A battle had taken place, and it seems Gym Leader Gladion came out victorious and managed to reach an agreement with Deoxys. He had said the Pokémon was equal to a legendary Pokémon in strength, and it took both his Latios and Latias to take down the Deoxys."

The reporter then shifted to a more informative tone.

"As for the Pokémon itself, Gym Leader Gladion, with the help of Professor Oak, had posted information about this Pokémon in the Pokédex."

An image of Deoxys appeared on the screen.

"It is a Psychic-type Pokémon, but what truly makes it a legendary is that it can shift forms. It can change between different shapes depending on the situation. In its Attack Form, its offensive power becomes incredibly high, allowing it to launch devastating special attacks that can pierce through strong defenses. In its Speed Form, it becomes one of the fastest Pokémon known, moving so quickly that most opponents cannot even react in time. And in its Defense Form, its durability reaches almost unbreakable levels, letting it withstand powerful hits that would knock out other legendaries."

She took a deep breath, still sounding amazed.

"Experts say this ability to change forms gives Deoxys incredible adaptability in battle. It can switch strategies instantly, making it nearly impossible to prepare for. One moment it is a fast attacker, the next it becomes a tank that refuses to fall. This is not just another legendary. This is a Pokémon that can rewrite the rules of combat on the fly. The Pokémon world has never seen anything quite like it."

The studio panel immediately launched into a heated discussion. The guests spoke over each other with rising voices.

"Should we worry about a space invasion? What if there is an army of such Pokémon out there?" one expert asked, eyes wide with worry.

Another panelist jumped in. "Would we be able to handle hundreds of them? Our current defenses are built for known threats, not alien invaders!"

A third guest added, "We currently have only three trainers with legendary Pokémon. Would the legendaries of our world come to save us all if an army of such Pokemon attacked?"

The debate grew louder and more chaotic. One man slammed his hand on the table. "We need a global defense plan right now! What if these Deoxys creatures decide Earth is their new home? We cannot rely on one gym leader every time to fight legendary Pokemon!"

A woman on the panel laughed nervously. "Maybe we should start training our own space defense force."

The first expert shook his head. "This is not a joke! If one Deoxys required two legendaries to stop, what happens if ten of them show up? We need to contact all regions immediately and form an emergency alliance!"

Another guest tried to calm everyone down but failed. "Let us not panic. Gladion handled it once. Maybe he can train a special squad."

Now you might be wondering why the world knew about Deoxys. Would not it have been better if no one knew of it to prevent Deoxys from getting spotted.

Gladion had made a choice. He decided to make Deoxys's life a little difficult. With people actively looking for the alien Pokémon, Deoxys would try to hide more, thus fulfilling the part of their deal to stay away from humanity. Besides that, people should know about a legendary if it ever went on a rampage so they could avoid getting killed.

In a dark room somewhere in Kanto, Giovanni sat watching the news on a large screen. His Persian sat on his lap, purring softly. Giovanni's eyes narrowed as he absorbed every detail.

'A new psychic legendary, huh,' he thought.

He turned to Blaine, who stood nearby. "Can it help in our Mewtwo project? Would it make Mewtwo stronger?"

Blaine adjusted his glasses and thought for a moment. "Considering that it can shift forms like Mew, it might be able to. But we already have everything with Mew, so adding another Pokémon's DNA in the mix would just complicate things."

Giovanni leaned back in his chair. "Hmm, very well. We would make our reappearance soon after things have calmed down a little more, but this time there would be no one stopping us."

He let out a dark chuckle. His Persian meowed in agreement.
