Chapter 517 Bloodbath at the Brick Kiln
Chapter 517 Bloodbath at the Brick Kiln
"I... I really don't know the exact location!" Chen Laoliu said with a mournful face, finally admitting, "A few days ago, Ding Xiaoxie's men came to me and asked me to help buy some grain, oil, rice and flour, saying that they needed to be delivered to an abandoned brick kiln in Wangniudun."
"An abandoned brick kiln?" Ye Haoxuan raised an eyebrow.
“Yes!” Old Chen nodded hurriedly, afraid that Ye Haoxuan wouldn’t believe him. “I asked him where Mr. Ding was, but he didn’t say. He just said not to ask any more questions, or he’d take my life!”
"That's all I really know, nothing else!" Ye Haoxuan stood up, his eyes sweeping over Chen Laoliu, who didn't seem to be lying.
“Address,” he said in a deep voice.
Chen Laoliu quickly rattled off a string of addresses, adding, "That brick kiln is in a remote place, surrounded by reeds, it's hard to find!"
Ye Haoxuan didn't look at him again, turned around and left: "Let's go."
Feng Yuxiu released his grip, and Chen Laoliu fell to the ground with a "thud," collapsing to the ground, panting heavily, his back soaked in cold sweat.
The car restarted and headed towards Wangniudun.
Fang Zhanbo, sitting next to the passenger, kept his hands tightly clenched, his knuckles turning white.
Upon hearing the name "Ding Xiaoxie," the hatred in his eyes welled up uncontrollably, and his breathing became heavier.
"Brother Xuan, this time I'm going to kill them with my own hands."
His voice was hoarse, carrying a resentment that had been suppressed for many years.
Ye Haoxuan glanced at him and said in a deep voice:
"Don't worry, I'll save the opportunity for you. But remember, don't lose your composure. There are many of them, so be careful."
On the way, Lian Haolong frowned and said, "Brother Xuan, could it be a trap? Is it false information deliberately spread by Ding Xiaoxie's men?"
"It's possible," Ye Haoxuan said calmly, "but whether it is or not, we have to go and see."
"Ding Xiaoxie can hide for a while, but he can't hide forever. As long as he is still in Dongguan, we will definitely find his whereabouts."
Feng Yuxiu gripped the steering wheel tightly, his eyes resolute: "Don't worry, Brother Xuan, even if it's a trap, we'll charge right in!"
The car drove further and further off the road, the number of houses around gradually decreased, and the reeds along the roadside increased, rustling in the wind, conveying a sense of desolation.
“Brother Xuan, the abandoned brick kiln is just ahead.” Feng Yuxiu pointed to a pile of ruins ahead.
In the distance, several dilapidated brick kilns stood in the reeds, their walls mottled and their doors and windows rotted away, looking particularly eerie.
It was quiet all around; there wasn't a soul in sight.
Ye Haoxuan's eyes darkened: "Stop the car and walk there."
The group got out of the car, crouched down, and made their way towards the brick kiln.
Fang Zhanbo followed Ye Haoxuan's side, his steps light and his eyes sharp as an eagle's.
Footsteps rustled softly in the reeds, their sound particularly clear in the stillness.
As they got closer to the brick kiln, Ye Haoxuan suddenly raised his hand, signaling everyone to stop.
He listened intently and could vaguely hear voices coming from inside the brick kiln.
Ye Haoxuan's eyes sharpened, and he made a shushing gesture, pointing his finger towards the broken window on the west side of the brick kiln.
The group crouched low, using the reeds as cover, and quietly made their way to the window.
A faint light shone through the broken window, mixed with the sounds of men playing drinking games and clinking bottles.
"Damn it, that bastard Ye Haoxuan really thinks he can find Mr. Ding? Dream on!"
"That's right, once things calm down, we'll go back to Hong Kong Island and take over all of that kid's territory!"
"Come on, let's drink! A toast to Mr. Ding!" Vulgar language drifted out through the window cracks, and Fang Zhanbo's eyes instantly turned bloodshot as he was about to rush in.
Ye Haoxuan reached out and pressed his hand down, gently shaking his head.
Now is not the time to act impulsively.
Feng Yuxiu's eyes hardened, he drew the short knife from his waist, and gently pushed open the half-closed, dilapidated wooden door.
Inside, the men were drinking around a bonfire. They were all burly men with bare chests and machetes at their waists; they were Ding Xiaoxie's loyal followers.
No one noticed the commotion at the door.
Ye Haoxuan rushed in first, his movements as fast as a ghost.
Fang Zhanbo followed closely behind, and with a swift movement, he dodged a burly man who turned his head.
Before the other man could react, he punched him in the ribs with a crisp "crack," and the burly man groaned as he fell to the ground.
The burly man closest to the door had just noticed something was wrong and turned his head when Ye Haoxuan grabbed him by the back of the neck and slammed him against the campfire!
"Ah—!" The scream was piercing as the burly man's face was instantly charred black by the flames, his skin sizzling.
The others froze in fright, sobering up considerably, and hurriedly reached for the machetes at their waists.
"Make your move!" Ye Haoxuan shouted in a low voice, devoid of any emotion.
Feng Yuxiu and Lian Haolong, along with their henchmen, rushed forward. Blades flashed, and screams echoed.
Ye Haoxuan didn't waste any words and immediately launched a killing move.
A burly man swung his knife at him, but he dodged to the side and kicked the man in the knee at the same time.
With a sharp crack, the burly man's knee broke, and he collapsed to the ground, writhing in excruciating pain.
Ye Haoxuan bent down, snatched the machete from him, and slit his throat with his other hand.
Blood spurted out, staining his black shirt red, but he didn't even blink.
Fang Zhanbo was not to be outdone. He was agile and dodged the other's machete. He then grabbed the other's wrist with his other hand, twisted it hard, and the machete fell to the ground.
Immediately after, he struck the man in the chest with his elbow, sending the burly man flying backward and crashing into a brick wall, knocking him unconscious. In just a few minutes, the dozen or so people in the brick kiln were all dealt with.
"Speak! Where is Ding Xiaoxie?" Ye Haoxuan grabbed a skinny man who was trembling with fear and held a cleaver to his neck.
The blade was icy cold. The skinny man was terrified, stammering, "I... I don't know! I really don't know!"
Ye Haoxuan's eyes turned cold, and with a slight tightening of his wrist, blood immediately seeped from the skinny man's neck.
"I'll ask you one more time, where is Ding Xiaoxie?"
The skinny man was so frightened that he wet his pants and cried out, "I'll talk! I'll talk! Mr. Ding... Mr. Ding and Mr. Ding Xie are both in the old dock warehouse in Humen! They're going to take their whole family and escape to Southeast Asia by boat!"
"Ting Hai is here too?" Fang Zhanbo suddenly stepped forward, grabbed the skinny man's hair, his eyes bloodshot. "His whole family is here?"
"Yes...yes! Ding Yixie and Ding Wangxie are both here! They're all packing in the warehouse!" The skinny man nodded, crying.
Fang Zhanbo's hatred erupted completely, and he snapped the skinny man's neck.
"Investigate! Confirm the location of the old Humen Wharf!" Ye Haoxuan said in a deep voice.
Feng Yuxiu immediately took out paper and pen to record, while Lian Haolong led his men to clean up the scene.
More than a dozen corpses lay scattered on the ground. The campfire was still burning, and the air was filled with the nauseating smell of blood and burnt flesh. One of the henchmen couldn't help but gag.
"Clean it up, don't leave any traces." Ye Haoxuan turned and walked out, bloodstains dripping from the hem of his black shirt. "Meet at the old Humen Wharf."
"Yes, Brother Xuan!" everyone responded in unison.
Ten minutes later, the two cars sped along the road to Humen.
The wind outside the car window carried a fishy smell, a unique odor of the docks.
Fang Zhanbo leaned against the car window, his eyes fixed on the road ahead, his hands still clenched tightly.
The entire Ding family was present; this was his best chance for revenge, and he would not let anyone go.
Ye Haoxuan leaned back in the passenger seat, a cigarette between his fingers, his eyes growing colder amidst the swirling smoke.
Ding Xiaoxie, Ding Xie... Want to escape to Southeast Asia? Not so easy.
"Brother Xuan, the old Humen Wharf has been abandoned for many years, and it's surrounded by unfinished buildings, making it easy to ambush people," Feng Yuxiu warned.
"An ambush?" Ye Haoxuan sneered, his eyes filled with ruthlessness. "Perfect, saves me the trouble of searching them one by one."
"Today, anyone who dares to stop me will be drowned!" The car sped up, heading towards the old Humen Wharf.
