Chapter 792: Rising Troubles

Bai Meiyue pursed her lips. She did not know what to say at the moment. She looked at the siblings who were fighting with each other and had no idea what to say to them. However, she did not need to worry about it. As soon as Lu Jingguo saw her, he immediately said to her, "Bai Meiyue, can you help our leader? Can you send the rescue plane to bring him back?"

"I don’t think that it is possible."

When Bai Meiyue heard his request, she shook her head in refusal. She understood what was going on from their fight. But there was nothing that she could do. First of all, those rescue planes were not hers; she was borrowing them from someone and did not have the right to use them. She could not just command the rescue planes to come over, and that too for just one person. What was more, the resources were not the same anymore.

They had already asked Master Bai to waste a lot of his fuel for no reason. But the man was kind enough to help them; she could not take his kindness for granted.

She had no idea what happened to Bai Feng and how he ended up getting trapped in the wave, but she had a feeling that it had something to do with Bai Xue. Why would she bother Master Bai because of Bai Feng’s foolishness? No matter how heroic Bai Feng was or how hard he worked to save the lives of his teammates, it had nothing to do with her. She had done everything that she could have done to save his life.

If the man himself did not take her efforts seriously, what could she even do?

"Bai Meiyue, are you really going to watch him die?" Lu Jingguo couldn’t believe it. Bai Meiyue had already helped them so much. Why was she refusing now? She could always help them since she had the resources to do so. Was it really necessary?

Bai Meiyue frowned when she saw Lu Jingguo’s expression. "Lu Jingguo, do you really think I can just mobilise so many rescue planes on my own? Those planes were all thanks to Fox, who owed me a favour. I don’t have the means to arrange so many military planes to rescue so many people. I already told Bai Feng this. I was not joking when I said that the planes will only run for a short and limited time. You cannot blame me for not being able to help you."

Anyway, if it were Bai Feng alone, then she would have maybe tried to save him from the infected base, but there was no way she was going to save him along with Bai Xue. She had always been looking for opportunities where she could kill Bai Xue. She could not do it just because Bai Feng was bent on protecting Bai Xue. Now that Bai Xue was trapped in the infested safe base with Bai Feng without any ability, why would she ruin this hard-earned opportunity? It would be better if that woman died!

And even if she wanted to help Bai Feng, she could not waste the resources that she had not acquired. What was she supposed to do in this situation? Was she supposed to go and beg Master Bai again? But why would she lower her head in front of Fox for Bai Feng’s stupidity and Bai Xue’s selfishness?

Anyway, Bai Feng was not a weak ability user. He had awakened thunder ability; since that was the case, the chances of him dying were really, really low. Unless he was stupid enough to let Bai Xue lead him by his nose again, it would be quite easy for them to survive.

"Bai Meiyue, are you really going to be this heartless? I know that you don’t like Bai Xue; in fact, no one in our team likes her either. But Leader Feng is a good man. He doesn’t deserve to be left alone in the safe base. What if something happens to him? I mean, he has saved your life many times as well, hasn’t he?"

"And that is the only reason I helped him move so many of your team members, as well as survivors. Lu Jingguo, I am not willing to slap you in the face, but let me ask you, do you think that I don’t need to arrange for aviation fuel? Do you still think that we are living in a world where I can just drive to the fuel station and make up for the lack of fuel?" Bai Meiyue sneered. She did not want to rip face off with Bai Feng and his team just yet, but they were taking too much for granted!

She had already done her best to help them, and yet they were still asking for more.

"But—"

Lu Jingguo knew that what Bai Meiyue said was indeed correct, but he was still anxious. He was about to say something, but he was interrupted by Lu Xinran. "Brother, Sister Meiyue is correct. She has done her best to help us, and I believe that it is better to leave Bai Xue in that infested safe base for a while. That woman knew that the situation was not favourable, and yet she dared to run amok and even threw a tantrum just because Leader Feng did not allow her to go first. It is better for her to recognise reality this way."

When Bai Meiyue heard her words, she could not help but laugh lightly.

"Xinran, I knew that you were naive, but I never thought that you were this naive. You think that this will wake Bai Xue up? I am afraid that this will only make her even more resentful." Bai Meiyue curled her lips and spoke in a disdainful voice. She knew Bai Xue better than anyone. Bai Xue growing up? Hah! That would be such a miraculous thing that the world would turn upside down.
