Gu Zhian sat in a spacious and bright office, wearing a well-tailored dark blue suit and a white shirt with the collar slightly open.

He lowered his head, concentrating on reviewing the documents on his desk. The pen in his hand made a slight rustling sound as it moved across the paper. Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto his desk, illuminating his angular profile.

At this moment, there was a gentle knock on the door. Gu Zhian said in a steady voice, "Come in," without even looking up.

The door opened and Jessica walked in. She was wearing a simple black business suit, her high heels making crisp sounds on the floor. She bowed slightly and said respectfully, "Mr. Gu, your father is here to see you."

Gu Zhian paused for a moment, then put the pen down and looked up. His eyes were calm but with a hint of complexity. "Let him in," he said calmly.

Jessica nodded and walked out.

A moment later, Gu's father walked in. He was wearing a dark gray Mao suit, and his steps were steady yet heavy. His face was filled with obvious worry, his brows furrowed, and his eyes were fixed on Gu Zhian.

"Dad, why are you here?" Gu Zhian stood up, his tone calm, but there was a hint of alienation in his eyes.

Father Gu walked to the desk. He didn't sit down, but spoke directly, his voice filled with suppressed anger: "I heard that you are considering urgently acquiring Huo Ting Real Estate and even considering helping Mr. Huo to guarantee the loan?"

Gu Zhian nodded slightly, his tone calm: "Yes, I have decided."

Father Gu's face instantly darkened, and he stomped his foot heavily on the floor. "Do you know how big a risk this is? The Huo Group's current situation is unclear. If he can't pay it back, our Boyuan Group's reputation and property will be seriously affected!"

Gu Zhian placed his hands in his suit trouser pockets and looked at his father calmly. "Of course I understand the risks, but I have my reasons."

Father Gu's brows furrowed even more tightly, and his voice rose slightly. "Reason? What reason would make you take such a big risk?"

Gu Zhian's expression changed slightly, a flicker of pain in his eyes. He turned and walked to the French window, his back to his father. His voice was low but firm: "Back then, to save you, I was forced to accept the arranged marriage and gave up my beloved Ms. Tang. What else do you want? Now her family is in trouble, and I will help no matter what. Even though I know I can never win her back, I still love her silently."

Father Gu's face turned pale in an instant, and the hand holding the crutch trembled slightly.

He was silent for a moment, his voice filled with helplessness and guilt. "Are you so heartless? Your ex-wife Shen Jingyan gave birth to your son, and you don't care about our past relationship at all? It's almost the New Year, and you haven't even bothered to visit her?"

Gu Zhian gave a bitter smile, turned around, looked directly at his father, and said with a hint of sarcasm, "Son? Do you really think that's my son? Shen Jingyan was already pregnant before we got married, and she kept it a secret from me. That child is not mine."

Father Gu took a step back in shock, his crutches nearly falling out of his hand, his voice trembling, "You...what did you say? How is this possible? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

A trace of pain flashed across Gu Zhian's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure. "That's the truth. How can I tell you? Tell you that I'm cheating?
