Chapter 43 Finding Gold
Chapter 43 Finding Gold
Upon waking up that morning, the second son pressed three fingers down in front of Zexuan, signifying waiting for their mother's third day.
Zexuan smiled and nodded, saying, "Yes, there are three today. Zemo is great!"
Zemo smiled and went to have breakfast with his older brother, younger brother, and younger sister. After breakfast, his third uncle came and took them to play by the stream inside the village.
The stream was emerald green, its clear waters trickling gently. Small fish and shrimp swam to and fro, and the four little ones loved to play there. When they arrived, some of the older orcs from the tribe were also playing. Several three- or four-year-old orcs were overjoyed to see Ze Xinyi and tried to give her the little fish they had painstakingly caught.
"Xinyi, this is for you. Look how pretty this little fish is!"
"Xinyi, my fish is beautiful too, look!"
"Xinyi, I caught two little shrimp today, here you go."
The last little beastman only had a shrimp in his hand. While he was at a loss, his second brother, Zemo, pushed the three little beastmen aside and gave his little wooden bucket to his sister, meaning she should wait on the shore until her three brothers caught some fish before playing with it; she shouldn't accept anything from others.
The little orcs were a bit disappointed as Zemo pushed them aside.
However, Ze Xinyi still smiled sweetly at them.
Seeing Ze Xinyi smile at them, the little beastmen perked up again. They put the small fish and shrimp they had caught into a small wooden bucket, and the bewildered little beastman happily joined in, playing with the four little ones. They chased after the fish and shrimp by the stream, their laughter echoing throughout the air.
Suddenly, Ze Xinyi saw something glittering in the water and curiously reached out to scoop it up. When she pulled it to the surface, she found it was a small piece of gold, just the right size for her little hand. She didn't understand what it was, but she thought it was pretty and liked it very much. She went ashore to show it to her third uncle.
"Xinyi, did you pick this up?" her third uncle asked.
Ze Xinyi nodded
"How about your uncle holds it for you?"
Ze Xinyi nodded again. Sigh! There's nothing she can do; she's not even a year old yet and can't speak, so she can only nod.
After receiving the gold, the third uncle examined it carefully. He realized it was different from a stone and must be very valuable! He planned to wait for Weiwei to come back and show it to her; perhaps Weiwei would know.
After playing for about two hours, their third uncle was going to take them home.
"Zeyuan, Zemo, Zejin, come up, let's go home," because Zexinyi was playing with the little fish and shrimp in the wooden bucket on the shore.
After Ze Yuan, Ze Mo, and Ze Jin got ashore, their third uncle picked up Ze Xin Yi with his right arm and, holding a small wooden bucket in his left hand, said to the little beastmen in the water, "You guys come up too, let's go home."
The little beastmen and the three brothers followed behind their third uncle, chasing and playing around, laughing and joking.
While playing, they followed their third uncle back to Ze Xinyi's house. When Ze Xuan saw them return, he invited the little beastmen to have lunch with them.
"Do you guys want to have lunch with Zeyuan and the others?"
The little orcs nodded happily.
"You guys play for a while, Uncle will call you when dinner is ready. Third Brother, you can eat here too," Zexuan said before going to cook.
At this moment, Ze Xinyi took out the gold and happily showed it to her brother and the little beastmen. The gold shimmered brilliantly in the sunlight. Her brother and the little beastmen curiously gathered around, looked at the gold, and started playing with it together.
Soon after, Zexuan's meal was ready.
"Go wash your hands and eat."
The little beastmen and the four little ones sat at a low table. Ze Xuan gave each of them a bowl of noodles with slices of meat and some wild vegetables. It was the first time the little beastmen had ever eaten noodles, and they really enjoyed it.
"Xinyi, your food is so delicious!"
"Yes, yes, it's so delicious!" the little orcs exclaimed as they ate.
Ze Xinyi smiled and nodded, while Ze Mo rolled his eyes at them, as if to say, "That goes without saying."
After they had eaten their fill, the little beastmen went back to their respective homes, and Zexuan told the four little ones to take a nap.
Ze Xinyi took out that piece of gold to play with again while she was sleeping.
"Where did this come from?" Zexuan asked.
Ze Xinyi pointed outside; she wouldn't say anything anyway, let her father guess.
Zexuan thought of the little fish and shrimp in the wooden bucket and knew they had gone to the stream.
Zexuan looked at the small gold nugget thoughtfully. Weiwei probably liked this kind of thing too. Xinyi really resembled her mother. Thinking of Lin Weiwei when she was little, he couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Xinyi didn't know what her father was laughing at, so she started laughing along.
