Chapter 66 The Sister in the True and False Jin Wen (7)
"Go to the orphanage of longing."
The moment she saw the information, Leyan made her decision.
Looking at the thin, bony boy in the photo, Le Yan frowned deeply.
Unlike Zhao Weizhou, this young man named Chu Mufeng has not had a good life in recent years.
Before the age of five, I had the love of my parents and lived a simple and happy life.
But after he turned five, his mother got breast cancer and his father got lung cancer, and the family fell apart, leaving only the lonely and helpless Chu Mufeng, who was sent to an orphanage.
There were too many children in the orphanage. Chu Mufeng had become taciturn due to the successive loss of his parents. He was an unpopular figure there, someone that none of the children wanted to approach. Even the staff at the orphanage often ignored him because he was not very noticeable.
As Chu Mufeng grew up, he became increasingly gloomy. He was ostracized in the orphanage, and even after starting school, he was often isolated and sometimes even bullied.
Fortunately, he was intelligent and consistently ranked at the top of his class. In a public school where academic performance was paramount, the teachers paid close attention to him and were therefore somewhat protective of him.
However, teachers are mostly powerless to help these bright students outside of school. They can protect these bright students while they are in school, but once they leave school, they are somewhat powerless to do anything about them.
"Hey Chu, don't push your luck. We're asking you for money because we think highly of you. Hand over all the money now!"
In a narrow alley, in front of a stinking pile of garbage, a thin, weak, and gloomy boy is being robbed by three thugs.
"I have no money." A hoarse voice rang out, and Chu Mufeng, whose eyes were covered by long bangs, clenched his fists secretly.
The leader of the thugs sneered, "No money? We only came to ambush you after we saw you collect your wages. You dare say you have no money?"
His gaze fell on the backpack that Chu Mufeng was clutching tightly to his chest, and the thug grinned as he reached out, "Give it to me!"
Three thugs, stronger than Chu Mufeng, attacked him together. Two held him down, while one snatched his backpack, pulled out a few red banknotes, and then disdainfully tossed it onto the trash heap.
The thug sneered, patting Chu Mufeng's defiant face. "Next time, be smart and hand over the money, then you won't have to suffer."
"let's go."
Looking at the backpack carelessly tossed on the trash, Chu Mufeng's eyes gradually turned fierce. He picked up a brick from the ground and threw it directly at the three smug thugs in front of him.
"boom"
The aim was excellent; the thug who fell was hit and his head was covered in blood.
"Xiao Yi!"
"Damn it! You actually dared to hit my brother!"
The remaining two thugs were enraged when they saw their brother who had been knocked down.
He rushed forward and started fighting with Chu Mufeng, who had picked up another brick.
But they were unarmed, and Chu Mufeng struck them hard in the first exchange. "Damn it! You all deserve to die!"
"Xiao Bing!" The gang leader frantically helped up another brother whose face was covered in blood, his eyes filled with fear as he looked at Chu Mufeng.
He's gone mad, he's gone mad, he really wants to kill someone!
The gang leader, who only wanted to rob and didn't want to lose his life, immediately tried to run away, but slipped and fell to the ground.
"do not come!"
"Don't come here!"
As Chu Mufeng approached step by step, looking like a god of death, the gang leader's voice trembled with fear.
Just then, a commotion arose at the entrance of the alley.
"Quick, hurry, they're right here!"
Upon hearing the sound, the thug's eyes lit up, and he opened his mouth to shout for help.
But he wasn't as fast as Chu Mufeng.
Almost as soon as he sensed someone approaching, he quickly stepped forward and shoved the brick in the thug's hand.
"you--"
Under the thug's incredulous gaze, Chu Mufeng decisively grabbed his hand and smashed the brick directly onto his own head.
With a "bang," blood splattered out, and Chu Mufeng slowly collapsed.
"120! Call 120!"
Just before he lost consciousness, he seemed to see a figure.
She ran towards me with her back to the light.
She caught herself.
Le Yan never expected that she would send two of her younger brothers to the hospital in just three days.
One was stabbed, the other had a head injury and was bleeding profusely; neither was a minor injury.
"Sweetie, how's the baby?"
Upon receiving the news, Zhao Cheng rushed over, only to find Le Yan sitting outside the ward.
“Dad,” Le Yan stood up, led Zhao Cheng to the ward door, looked through the window in the door, pointed to Chu Mufeng lying on the bed, and said, “The doctor said it’s a mild concussion, possibly accompanied by tinnitus, dizziness, and vomiting. We’ll have to wait until he wakes up to see for more details.”
"Where are those thugs?" Zhao Cheng glanced at the boy on the bed, his expression indifferent, showing no sign of worry. Instead, he asked about the thugs who had robbed Chu Mufeng.
Le Yan didn't notice his expression and only replied, "One of them is currently detained by the police, and two others were also hit with bricks and are now in the hospital."
Upon hearing that two thugs had been vandalized, Zhao Cheng slightly raised his eyes and asked, "How were they vandalized?"
Le Yan shook her head. "I'm not sure. Maybe my brother acted in self-defense before he was hit."
"Okay, you keep an eye on him. My lawyer and I are going to the police station."
His gaze swept over Chu Mufeng, who was lying unconscious on the bed, and then focused on his face, which looked about 50% like his own. Zhao Cheng patted Le Yan's shoulder and left the hospital.
Watching his retreating figure, Le Yan glanced back at Chu Mufeng, who was still unconscious, before going downstairs to check on Zhao Weizhou.
"Sister, what did Dad want to see you about? Why did he take so long?"
Meng Cili and Ning Zhiyu had already gone back to the hotel to freshen up, leaving only Zhao Weizhou waiting for Leyan to return.
His eyes lit up when he saw her enter the room. If he hadn't been concerned about his injuries, he would have jumped out of bed and rushed to his sister long ago.
“My dad asked me to discuss the mental illness issue. It went on for a long time, so he came back late.”
"Zhouzhou, how are you feeling now? Are you alright?"
"Does the wound hurt?"
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Le Yan's eyes were full of concern.
"I'm fine, sister, don't worry. I'm full of energy now, I can be discharged right away!"
Afraid of making his sister feel guilty and worried, Zhao Weizhou gestured wildly to show that he was in good health, but he accidentally aggravated his wound, "Ouch..."
Le Yan looked at him helplessly, "Alright, be careful not to tear your wound later, sit down quickly."
She grabbed Zhao Weizhou's arm, and looking at the man who looked at her with such dependence, her heart sank.
Her eyes darted around, and she tentatively began, "Zhouzhou, if... ..."
"I mean, what if I weren't your sister? What would you do?"
Not his sister?
When his gaze fell on those expectant almond-shaped eyes, Zhao Weizhou lowered his head in a fluster, his eyes blinking uncontrollably.
"Why are you suddenly asking me this kind of question, sister? If you're not my sister, then who is?"
He wanted her not to be his sister, but she was his sister.
