Chapter 427 Moving Back to the Inner Quarters

Upon hearing that his elder brother's family was going to move back to the house in the back, Sun Zihao agreed, saying, "Brother, I've been wanting to persuade you to move back to the back and rent out this place. The rent here is much higher than in the back."

Sun Zitao smiled and said, "Yes! At first, the children in the family were all grown up and there was nowhere to live, right? Now, some of them are studying in other places, and some have gotten married. Only Yunya is at home, so the house in the back is spacious enough for everyone."

First, they lifted Sun Guoqiang's bed and carried it downstairs, loading it onto the cart. Then they went back upstairs to move Sun Limei's bed. After carrying them down, they stacked the two beds together, tied them with rope, and pulled the cart to the house built in the vegetable garden behind the house.

After unloading the two beds, they went back to move Yunya's bed, and Sun Zihao helped move the desk down from upstairs before they were done helping.

Sun Zitao invited his younger brother to stay for dinner, and Sun Zihao accepted without hesitation. Kong Xiujuan bought three meat dishes and cooked three vegetarian dishes to entertain her brother-in-law.

Sun Zitao also brought out an unopened bottle of baijiu to accompany his younger brother. The two drank happily and had a few more cups than intended. After they were full and satisfied, Sun Zihao stumbled home.

When they arrived at the inner courtyard, the lights were still on; her parents were already asleep. A small lamp was left on in their bedroom, waiting for Yunya to return.

When Yunya was still near the gate at the intersection, the little dog already recognized that its owner had returned, so it kept barking.

Kong Xiujuan knew that Yunya had come home from get off work when she heard the little black dog barking, so she turned on the light in their bedroom.

Yunya opened the gate and pushed the cart into the yard. The little dog wagged its tail happily and circled around Yunya.

Yunya parked the car properly, picked up the little black dog, and stroked its fur. The dog licked Yunya's face, leaving behind its drool.

Yunya quickly put it down, washed her hands and face, and then prepared to heat up the food. Today's leftovers were plentiful, including pig's head meat, pig's ears, and spicy chicken.

Kong Xiujuan asked Yunya, "You're back! How did you know you were coming here? I thought you were going back to the front storefront!"

Yunya replied, "Oh, I did go back to the front storefront. When I turned on the light, I saw that it was all empty, so I guessed that they had moved to the back, and that's why I came to the back."

Kong Xiujuan said with satisfaction, "Oh, you've learned your lesson! I thought you didn't know to come to the house in the back!"

Yun Ya pouted, "I'm not stupid, I just say what I think, I don't play tricks."

Kong Xiujuan smiled and said, "Hurry up and heat up the food and eat! Don't heat it all up, just heat up as much as you'll eat."

Yunya agreed and went to heat up the food. After she returned, she sat down and began to eat.

Yunya asked her mother, "Mom, are we having guests? Why did you buy meat and vegetables? And pig's ears and pig's head meat too?"

Kong Xiujuan replied, "There are no guests. Your second uncle is helping your dad carry the bed and furniture!"

Yunya exclaimed, "Oh! There are no outsiders here, why are you making so many dishes!"

Kong Xiujuan said, "It won't work if there are no outsiders! When you ask for help, you can't just leave them without even providing a meal! Otherwise, next time you need their help, see if they'll still come to help."

Yun Ya: "That's right, no effort is ever wasted."

Kong Xiujuan yawned and said, "Okay, I'm going to sleep. You should go to sleep after you finish eating!"

Yunya replied, "Okay, I understand."

Soon, the sound of Kong Xiujuan's even breathing and Sun Zitao's snoring came from the east bedroom.

Yunya quickly ate some vegetables and half a pancake, closed the door, and went to her bedroom to prepare for sleep.

After all the lights were turned off, Yunya took off her clothes and lay in bed, curling up into a ball to warm the blankets.

As she warmed the blankets, Yunya gradually drifted off to sleep.

The next day, snowflakes began to fall. The snowflakes drifted down, and soon the whole world was covered in a blanket of white.

Yunya was awakened by the noise outside the window. When she opened her eyes, she saw that everything outside was already covered in white. Excitedly, she got up, dressed, and ran out of the room.

"Yunya, be careful, the road is slippery!" Kong Xiujuan called out from inside the house.

Yunya responded and ran happily on the snow in the yard, reaching out to catch the falling snowflakes.

At this moment, Sun Zitao also came out, looked at the snow scene and said, "This snow is really good, a good omen for a bumper harvest."

The family stood in the yard, enjoying the winter snow scene.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Sun Zitao opened the door and found it was his second uncle, Sun Youqian, from the front yard.

Kong Xiujuan chimed in, "Zitao, I'll go help too."

So the two of them picked up their tools and followed Sun Youqian to his house, where they got busy in the snow.

Yunya went back inside and lit the stove; she planned to make breakfast today. Remembering her second grandfather in the front yard, Yunya decided to cook his breakfast as well.

The stove quickly caught fire. Yunya loved lighting the stove; it gave her a great sense of accomplishment.

After chopping some cabbage, scallions, and ginger, Yunya started stir-frying the vegetables. Once a pot of water boiled, Yunya began adding the noodles.

After the noodles were cooked, Yunya ran to the front yard to call her parents back for breakfast. Yunya also invited her great-uncle, Sun Youqian, to come and have breakfast together.

Sun Youqian didn't stand on ceremony. He brought a plastic bag of spiced peanuts and followed Sun Zitao to his house to have breakfast together.

Yun Ya served them steaming hot noodles and brought them to the table, ready for them to eat. Kong Xiujuan noticed that there were no side dishes, only a small dish of pickled radishes, so she heated up the leftovers from yesterday and brought them up as well.

The three of them slurped their noodles, and soon a layer of white mist rose on the window, making the outside feel even colder.
