Chapter 89 Two Plans
Chapter 89 Two Plans
On their third day back at the club, Burton won 2-0 away against Queens Park Rangers.
They learned their lesson from Burton last time, and this time they've fielded a 4-5-1 formation, seemingly determined to fight to the bitter end.
However, it was of little use. When Nasri, Jami, and Matias were all on the field, they still had a knack for breaking down dense defenses.
Finally, Matias and Quinn each scored a goal, ending the match.
Their next match is against Birmingham City, whose performance in the first half of the season was poor, but they have rebounded after Christmas and are currently in ninth place.
It seems only a matter of time before they break into the top six.
Interestingly, all of the top six teams except Burton Albion lost this round.
"Li, seize this opportunity, maybe we can..."
Before Chris could finish speaking, he saw Li Yanqing looking completely calm.
"The good news is good news, but the problem is that we are also about to lose a game."
The latter shrugged. He planned to rotate most of his key players in the next round, but his opponents wouldn't give him the chance forever.
"By the way, has Alger contacted Robinson?"
“Alger Brown?” Chris was taken aback, not expecting that Li Yanqing also knew about this.
“That’s a huge deal. If it goes through, your transfer fee alone could be 30 million pounds more.”
"So fierce?" Li Yanqing was a little surprised. Didn't the other party not use his family's money?
He thought he'd be lucky to get an extra ten million.
"Don't get too excited yet, the conditions are quite demanding too." Chris shook his head, seemingly lacking confidence.
"Robinson and Buckle are busy with this."
"I don't know much either, I only know which part we're stuck on right now."
"Okay." Li Yanqing couldn't control this matter; all he knew was that if the deal went through, he should prepare the autographed jersey.
This is all small change; we'll have big money to spend once we're promoted to the Premier League.
Currently, Burton Albion has no other shareholders; Robinson is the sole decision-maker.
If he's happy, he could hand over all of the more than 100 million to Li Yanqing to handle the transfer.
Of course, in reality, being able to divide it in half would be considered quite good.
After being promoted to the Premier League, the facilities of the youth training team also need to be upgraded. The second and third tiers of youth training, as well as the junior teams, all need to be given more attention.
There are many places where you need to spend money.
What's truly heartening is that Mr. Felchar, the scout who hadn't been heard from in a long time, finally called him again.
"Fell!"
Where have you been lately?
"Have you found the player I need?"
Li Yanqing wasn't in a hurry, since they wouldn't have any new players joining until next season anyway.
If a club is promoted to the Premier League, then the criteria for buying players are completely different.
Therefore, they now need to develop two recruitment plans.
"There are still some. I'll send you the list later."
"I didn't come to you to talk about this. I wanted to ask if you could give me a different assistant?"
"Kevin is so stupid!"
"He has absolutely no talent in this area!"
Felchar has been very unhappy lately because he feels like he's dragging a burden around with him.
On several occasions, it was because of him that they were kicked out by other clubs.
The recent slowdown in work progress is also largely related to this.
"Uh...it's okay, Phil."
"If you find him troublesome, just tell him what to do and then leave him there."
“He’s such a grown man, he’s still capable of taking care of himself,” Li Yanqing said nonchalantly.
"Also, if you don't want to teach him, just put the requirements and judgment methods into a document for him; he'll probably find it easier to read."
“Okay, that makes sense.” After saying that, Felchar paused for a moment, and then added only one sentence.
"Remember to check your email."
Then, the scout disappeared again.
Until Li Yanqing received Kevin's call.
"plum!"
"Did Fair go back?"
"I don't know where he went!"
"This work simply cannot be carried out..."
"Hey?"
"Hello?"
......
Compared to Kevin's situation, he was more concerned about who was on the list that Fair provided this time.
I had already told him in advance that we needed to prepare two plans, so he sent me two lists.
However, Li Yanqing only downloaded the plan for successfully being promoted to the Premier League.
As for the failures... he would never even glance at them.
Felchar's list this time is fairly reliable; at least they took their budget into consideration.
After screening, Li Yanqing kept a few names.
First up is West Ham United's 28-year-old left-back, Cresswell. They faced each other in the FA Cup last time, and he even remembers his opponent's profile.
Name: Cresswell
Age: 28 years old.
Status: Good.
Fatigue level: 30%.
Probability of injury: 15%.
Entry: [Crossing from the byline], [Powerful striker], [Attacking defender]
He appears to be a full-back who is better at getting to the byline than Jamie, and could partner with Miller in the same lane; their technical styles would be a good match.
The problem is that West Ham United doesn't seem to be planning to let the player go, and the player himself is not interested in offers from other clubs.
The second is Danny Rose, a 26-year-old left-back who plays for Tottenham Hotspur.
This player just suffered a nine-month injury last year, and his opportunities at Tottenham this season have become increasingly scarce, seemingly unable to regain his former form.
Li Yanqing is quite interested in him and can contact him later. Such players are relatively cheap, and if they can be activated, their immediate combat effectiveness is also quite good.
But if it's a situation like Nasri's, he wouldn't dare sign again.
The last one, and the one he's most interested in, is David Luiz, who currently plays for Chelsea.
This is a well-established player who has delivered top-level performances and is known for his tough defense and powerful shots.
Although he is already 31 years old this year, he is still a viable defender.
However, he still has a year and a half left on his contract, and even if they get promoted, it's uncertain whether he'll be willing to join the newly promoted team.
He felt it wouldn't be a loss if he could sign the contract for around 12 million.
After all, Turner can't be a starter in the top league, and Baselli will most likely play back as a defensive midfielder, so Bradford alone is definitely not enough to hold the team.
What Li Yanqing didn't know was that on another list he didn't want to look at, there was a name lying quietly.
Jude Bellingham, now fifteen years old...
