Chapter 298: Going in a Circle

Chapter 298: Going in a Circle

“Very well, Minotaur, you are in full charge of the creation of writing and the recording of knowledge. Hephaestus is in charge of mining gold and making and carving gold nuggets.”

"Yes, King of Gods," Minotaur, the god of wisdom, and Hephaestus, the god of blacksmiths, replied in unison.

"God King..." The God of War Marcus stood up and bowed in respect.

"Marcus, what's the matter?"

“God-King, I had some doubts about your words before, but now I admit I was wrong. Because these past few nights, I have carefully observed the stars in the night sky and found that many of the stars above us have indeed changed. Zhou Yuan, what I want to say is that since you can move the sun and even destroy it, then your world is the world of gods. We gods, you know…” Marcus stopped there.

Zhou Yuan and Kalis understood what Marcus meant, and the other powerful figures naturally understood as well.

“Marcus, we are not gods, and neither are you.”

Marcus stared blankly at Zhou Yuan. If those who could destroy countless suns weren't gods, then what would qualify? In Marcus's mind, he seemed unable to imagine it.

“Kalis, everyone, let’s not get caught up in the ‘god’. The appearance of ‘god’ is just a result of our fear or worship of the unknown power. Kalis, you should know that our Earth Empire is just a human civilization that has mastered advanced technology.”

Carlisle nodded in her chair. Since receiving the knowledge from the Earth Empire, she had been digesting it over the past few days. Although she didn't understand or only had a superficial understanding of many things, she could still grasp some of the basics.

“Kalis, if possible, I would like to invite everyone in the Pantheon to see our world.”

Upon hearing this, some of the gods were delighted, some hesitated, some were fearful, and some had no clear expression.

Carlis noticed the changes in everyone's faces. She knew that these people had all been psychologically impacted since Zhou Yuan arrived. Even she herself had her worldview turned upside down.

"Everyone, Zhou Yuan's suggestion is excellent. We must not only see each other and ignore the humans in the other world, nor can we only see the blue sky above us."

Carlis's perspective has broadened considerably, and her words now carry profound meaning, which secretly pleased Zhou Yuan.

"Yes, God-King." These people were respectful and obedient to Kalis.

"Zhou Yuan, when do we set off?"

"Everyone, if it's convenient, you can do it now."

"God-King, if all the gods leave, who will take over the Pantheon...?"

"Marcus, don't worry, I'll arrange the guards." Zhou Yuan smiled slightly. There were already a hundred warships hidden inside the new Earth's sun, and many more stealth warships in the sky above the new Earth, not to mention the four nine-star orbiting sun systems, all heavily guarded. As for the Pantheon, several warships had already been deployed in the sky above it.

Kalis nodded. "Mohli, pass down the order: all the gods of the Pantheon, assemble in the Pantheon Square after the time it takes to eat a meal."

“Yes, Your Majesty.” Mehrli stood up, bowed to Kalis, and then flew directly out of the hall.

Kalis bent down, reaching for the sword and shield, then gave up, looking them over. With a firm resolve, she stood up, strode down, walked to Zhou Yuan, took his hand, and headed towards the Pantheon. The gods in the hall, though somewhat surprised by Kalis's decision to abandon the sword and shield, remained silent, following behind Kalis and Zhou Yuan. These great gods, as always, carried their own weapons and "magical artifacts."

After about the time it takes to eat a meal, more than 120 people had gathered in the Plaza of Gods. These 120-plus superpowered individuals were revered as gods among the humans of the New Earth.

These 120-plus people had already formed a line. Looking at the weapons in their hands, Caris felt a pang of pity for the first time.

"Zhou Yuan, they are ready, you can go now."

“Okay.” Zhou Yuan opened his ring and called out to Nana, whose virtual form appeared.

"Nana, activate the 'Square Light Body'. Show Kalis and these people our world."

"Yes, Master."

As soon as Nana finished speaking, everyone felt themselves being lifted into the air. Kalis signaled to everyone not to move.

The gods saw a gigantic, square orb of light overhead, enveloping the Pantheon. This orb radiated light, casting a dazzling glow on the ground beneath them. After a short while, the light vanished, and the gods landed, seemingly restored to their former state, able to clearly see the surrounding buildings and hilltops. However, they found themselves rapidly moving away from the Pantheon, ascending into the air. Like a zoom-in camera, they saw the Pantheon, the Pantheon, the dwellings of giants and elves gradually shrinking, and then the shimmering realm of Asgard...

The gods stared in astonishment at this shrunken world. In the end, they saw a large blue planet. To the right of the blue planet was the sun, and to the top left of the blue planet was a small, grayish planet—the moon.

Suddenly, the gods felt a flash of light followed by darkness, as if numerous shooting stars had streaked across the sky and plunged into the night. Then, their vision brightened again, and this time, they saw the sun and the blue Earth, but without the moon. What astonished the gods most was that they saw two enormous blue planets. Then, one of the blue planets shrank while the other grew larger. The gods, as if they were deities, leaped over the planets. Then, another enormous, almost identical blue planet appeared before them. The two blue planets shrank and grew larger again, and so on, alternating between the two blue planets. The gods silently counted, and it seemed there were nine blue planets in total.

After the last blue planet grew larger and then smaller, the gods saw two fireballs on either side of their heads. These two suns were almost the same size, and around each sun appeared to be nine celestial bodies. This time, the gods were truly astonished. These were merely two systems of nine stars orbiting the sun.

The two suns slowly shrank, and the nine stars on either side quickly disappeared, turning the two suns into two small stars. The gods then realized that each of the stars they had seen at night was actually a sun. Soon, they saw something unusual: the Earth Empire's ten-star orbiting system. Then, three blue planets appeared in the gods' vision.

"Kalis, everyone, the blue planet in the middle is our world, the main planet of the Earth Empire. The blue planet on the left is Horizon, and the blue planet on the right is Earth."

“Zhou Yuan, you’ve truly broadened your horizons today.” Marcus believed in seeing is believing. Before this, Marcus and the others had listened to Kalis recount Zhou Yuan’s various experiences in his world. Although they revered Kalis, they didn’t quite believe the various “miracles” she described about the otherworld. Zhou Yuan thought to himself that the purpose of leading the gods on this “interstellar journey” hadn’t been achieved yet.

The three blue planets began to shrink and suddenly disappeared. Then, the group saw a sun before them. Soon, they arrived in front of a dazzling fireball. It was a huge sun. The gods were astonished. They saw more than a dozen tall fire trees spewing from the surface of the fireball. But strangely, the gods did not feel any heat on their bodies.

This was also the first time Kalis had ever been so close to the sun. She was simply wondering why she hadn't been sunburned or burned to death. The sun, the ruler of all living things, was something Kalis, the gods, and humans could only look up at from the ground. Now, this sun was right before Kalis and the gods. How could they not be filled with a myriad of emotions?

Suddenly, Minova's voice rang out, "What's inside the sun? A giant furnace?"

After Minova finished speaking, everyone stared at Zhou Yuan, including Caris.

Zhou Yuan didn't know how to give these people an explanation they could understand, so he smiled and said, "Inside the sun, it's similar to its surface right now; it's fire. You could say there's a furnace inside, or you could say that."

"I have a question. If you can destroy the sun, are you going to go inside the sun and extinguish the furnace?" Marcus and the others had heard Caris talk about destroying stars, so Marcus asked this question.

Zhou Yuan thought to himself that this would take some effort to explain. "Marcus, you'll see soon enough." As Zhou Yuan finished speaking, the sun in front of everyone gradually shrank, until it was the size of the sun as seen on the new Earth. However, there was no land beneath their feet, only countless stars. These people, like a line of gods, floated in space, watching the sun from afar.

Suddenly, a strange phenomenon caught their attention. They saw the sun seem to tremble, then expand violently, growing from the size of a disc to over a hundred discs in size, before rapidly contracting again. The most astonishing moment arrived: halos of light emanated, and the sky ahead became incredibly bright. They could clearly see a distinct boundary between light and shadow ahead, and this boundary was moving. The halos on the other side of this boundary seemed to be chasing them, as if in a race, but they couldn't catch up, remaining constantly moving before their eyes.

The gods were horrified to see the sun in this state, and Zhou Yuan's words chilled them to the bone: "Marcus, I destroyed the sun just now, but I didn't go into the solar furnace."

Zhou Yuan had already made arrangements; this sun was merely a sacrifice, to be easily and quickly destroyed by the Imperial fleet.

The gods felt that after three or four meal times, the rings of light weakened, and the clear boundary between light and dark began to disappear. After another meal time, the previously fiery sun in front of them completely disappeared.

Even Carlisle couldn't help but show fear on her face. Although she had previously seen four spherical holographic displays on Zhou Yuan's flagship showing stars with diameters of billions of light-years being annihilated and turned into cosmic voids, the spectacular sight of the sun being rapidly destroyed was far more shocking to her than what she had seen on the holographic display. However, after the initial shock, Carlisle's feelings reversed. The thought of the cluster of stars being destroyed, reaching a scale of billions of light-years, made her feel as if she had a fishbone stuck in her throat, unable to breathe, and almost suffocating.

"Kalis, Kalis..." Zhou Yuan's voice rang out, and the gods also noticed that Kalis was acting strangely. Kalis's face was pale, and she stammered, "I'm fine."

Zhou Yuan held Carlisle tightly. "Shall we go back?"

"Where to?" Carlisle seemed not to have fully woken up yet, and was weak and listless.

“Return to the Pantheon.”

"it is good."

As soon as Zhou Yuan finished speaking, the gods felt the stars around them suddenly streak across the sky like shooting stars, followed by darkness. Soon after, more shooting stars streaked across their eyes, and then their visions brightened as they saw a blue planet, the sun, and the moon.

The blue planet grew larger and larger, then came towering mountains and cloud-capped peaks, and one by one, the temples of the gods appeared, as if the gods had been reborn as humans in a dreamlike existence.
